A Short History of the Family
Resource Center
The Family Resource Center traces its roots back to community
forums held in the late 1980's, where citizens requested a place for
parents and caregivers to go for information and support. In response
to this community need, the Family Resource Center opened its doors
at Bend's Rosie Bareis Campus in 1991.
Our mission: To strengthen and support
family relationships by serving as the Central Oregon source for
parenting education, information and resources.
The Family Resource Center is a registered non-profit
that is governed by a Board of Directors. The Center operates through
a combination of public and private funds and community donations and
partnerships. The Center is a United Way of Deschutes County member agency. If
